Live animals to Middle East
with other established businesses in Somalia, we export livestock animals’ valued at $250 million to $300 million each year.
Somalia being the biggest livestock exporter in Africa, millions of goats, sheep, camels and some cattle are shipped annually to the Middle East. The port of Berbera handles the bulk of these ani- mals. Saudi Arabia imports over 3 million heads of goats, sheep, cattle, and camels during the Hajj season, according to a 2019 report.
Besides Saudi Arabia, the other largest buyers of our livestock is the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Yemen, Kuwait, Oman and Egypt. Most of this trade takes place during the Hajj season. Somalia Livestock Company are among the market leaders well positioned each year for this live- stock market exports.
We have a well laid out infrastructure that guides our animal produce to seamlessly incorporate quality orders from our abroad consumers and customers.
Our somalia government is always seeking to strengthen bilateral relations with all the countries we export our livestock to and as a private company, we are always well prepared to deliver quality livestock.
